Building Restoration
What We've Completed So Far
Over the last four years, we have completed several important projects pertinent to maintaining the historical property here at 805 Straley Avenue in Princeton. It is our job to maintain and preserve First Christian Church, not just because it is a historical building, but foremost because it is God’s House.
Since 2018, we've completed these projects:
- Replaced the boiler for the Sanctuary Building with a new, high-efficiency furnace
- Completed extensive exterior brick and mortar repair
- Finished extensive tower repair
- Repaired and restored the Bell area, located on the Straley entrance side of the building
- Restored the Stone capping and repair, which also resolved outstanding leaking issues.
- Installed new insulation in the attic of the School Building and a brand new Climate Control System for the School Building, which will decrease our expenses exponentially
- New window installation
Projects We're Planning
As we continue through 2021 and beyond, several important projects we are considering include
- Additional brick repair
- Upgrades and expansion of our parking lot area.
Historic Bricks Available!
We're offering a unique incentive for donating to the worthy cause of our Building Restoration. As we have completed much of the exterior brickwork, several of the original bricks from the 1929 foundation of the Church Building have been removed and are available with a donation of $100. This donation ensures that your gift is used for current and future restoration projects, and you get to keep a historical piece of this Church!
